 MGI's Meteor DP40 is a four-color press that prints on paper and plastic. It is well suited for on-demand, short-and-medium sun printing. The press accommodates paper from 64 gsm to 300 gsm and plastic from 4 mil to 13 mil of polyester or PVC media. It prints on media including thin bond, heavy cover, matte or glossy paper, linen or textured paper, Chromolux paper up to 300 gsm, and synthetic materials such as standard PVC, Teslin SP, Lexan and polyester media up to 320 microns. It can produce 21,000 plastic cards per hour. Maximum sheet size is 12x18".
The press is equipped with a Print Station Manager that includes a Pantone certiffied Fiery RIP. It manages ICC profiles and offers an automated colorimetric calibration software program that includes a spectrophotometer and a linearization system that manages consumables. The unit can provide variable data management; including overprinting automatic numbering, bar codes, photos and ID pictures, and databases. |
